Bon Voyage Maralena, Como Esta Michael

February 10, 2009 by: Michael Cook

I would like to take a moment to thank our wonderful Maralena for all of the love and energy that she has put into CityRepair, and into the Word. Specifically I’d like to thank her for welcoming me into the CR community and for guiding me in my path towards CityrepairJunkiehood. I’m sure that we’re all very thankful for her dedication and eloquence with the Word, and I’m honored to be bestowed with the duty of carrying it on! Here’s to many merry installments of information, community, and awesomeness! Everyone wave good bye and send your blessings to Maralena, she’ll be assisting us from the transcendent for now.

So now, for the time being, I, Michael Cook, shall be the Herald of the Word. I’m really excited! Most of y’all probably don’t know me, so I’ll give a little introduction:

My name’s Michael Cook, I moved here about 6 months ago with my special lady friend Rachel from Fairfield, Iowa where we had just received our degrees in Sustainable Living from Maharishi University of Management. I’m and aspiring permaculturalist with interests in creative problem solving, art, music (tribal jams), fruit juice,
parkour, old school videogames, romantic dinners, and long walks on the beach…. We came to Portland for its more moderate climate, the amazing wilderness surrounding it, and because it seems to be the
Mecca of Sustainability lately. When I came to Portland, I came to Portland looking for CityRepair, even though I had never heard of it. And when I found it, I knew it. So ya, I’m really excited about this
year and all the projects I’ll be working on, like the Word!
