City Repair and the VBC are pleased to announce a month long event called The Apathy Rehabilitation Place. Located at the SeaChange Gallery (625 NW Everett St.) downtown and beginning March 4th through the 28th. Everything from the Exhibit and Instillations to the Workshops and Celebrations will become a bonafide explosion of everything that makes City Repair and The VBC Remarkable while also providing an exploration on the expulsion of Apathy!

Grand Opening and Puppet Show: Entitled ‘The Crossroads Dance.’ Allow the magic and music of puppetry to tell the Creation Story of City Repair, tickle your imagination and suspend your beliefs.

Public Social University: The latest in a series of public education forums, we will explore the ideas of Village, Utilizing Vacant Space, Housing and Community. How do all of these topics combine to create a more connected future world?

Past Project Storytelling: From 12 – 2 we invite everyone who has been affected by the work of City Repair and the VBC to come tell their stories. We at City Repair always say that ‘its not so much the projects themselves, but the experiences and relationships that are formed in the process.’ We want to walk that talk. Everyone welcome! Tea and Crumpets included.
Reware Market: From 2:30 – 6:30 we will host another Super Crazy, Wonderously Productive Upcycle Shenanigan! Bring your would-be-junk art materials, your selves and expect to learn upcycle crafts from skilled craftspeople in everything from paper mache to bone soup!

Social Isolation Workshop: from 3:30 to 6:00 Join us in a series of activities and discussions that will help us to look at and experience the affects that social isolation have and what an alternative to that might feel and look like.
Build Your Own Awesome Sheet Fort : The Workshop! (BYOASFW!) From 6:30 to 8:30 expect to Immerse yourself in the ancient art of pillow and sheet fort building while exploring the interaction between the ways we set up shelter and how that shapes who we are in community. All ages are welcome. Please bring one bedsheet per person and any pillows or other items or snacks to make your fort super deluxe.

Real New Year’s Celebration: Forget that whole January 1st business you’ve heard so much about, lets write the RealNew Year’s story. Free: food, music, seeds! Radical Deconstruction Of Apathy Playshops: Our modern lives tilt us towards a propensity for apathy that grows from our individually reinforced sense of disengagement, disempowerment and lack of emotional nourishment. Radical Deconstruction of Apathy (RDA) is a series of playshops that will survey the concepts of connection and community seeking the medicine that will help us heal our apathetic inclinations and in doing so, open our eyes to the world of being fully alive.

Worm Composting Workshop and Plant Share: Jump start your garden and worm your way into a sustainable spring. We’ll be sharing with you the composting wonders of wiggly red worms. Then take home our gifts of baby veggies and herbs to start planting. Bring your own plants to share!
