City Repair seeks a Sound and Image Documentation Assistant for their annual Village Building Convergence, which takes place from May 28th – June 6th.
The intern will collaborate with City Repair’s Documentation and Archives Coordinator to:
• recruit volunteer photographers and audio field recordists
• manage and support members of the documentation team
• do hands-on documentation in the field
• transfer and archive media files
• conceive of and/or produce amazing radio/multimedia pieces from the gathered material
This is an excellent opportunity to gain experience in audio and/or photo capture and editing skills, documentary team coordination, media archiving practices, and documentary radio and multimedia post-production. And super fun!
We seek a reliable individual who is passionate about documentary media production and has at least some experience in the field/studio.
Tatiana Irvine, City Repair’s Documentation and Archives Coordinator, is overseeing the documentation of the event and will be available to the assistant, by special arrangement, for a limited amount of mentoring in the areas of audio field recording and documentary radio production and post-production. Tatiana has worked internationally as an independent documentary media producer since 1997, with a specialization in location sound recording, sound editing and radio/multimedia production.
In exchange for the described documentation support, the assistant will be granted an all-access pass to VBC workshops and nightly events.
