Description The Village Green Gardens is the first VBC project of The M.A.C.E. (Mallory Ave. Community Enrichment) Center. The MACE Center, which originated as Portland’s first YMCA in the 1900’s and has since been used as a church, homeless center, soup kitchen and community meeting place by various organizations. Its doors have been open to the community for over 100 years!

The project for this first year will be to transform their parking lot into a green space for vegetable production, beautification, and water management and a community space for concerts, events, and gatherings. We have already begun to transform the step slopped edges of the parking space and with your help we can really make a difference! There is plenty of work and fun for anyone of any age. Come out and join us!
