Description

Since the Beginnings of City Repair, Share-It Square has modeled the return of the Village and the Repair of the City. Share-It Square was established in the fall of 1996, after the Moon-Day T-Hows project had demonstrated to area residents the benefits of having a local gathering place. Over the years – twelve years! – and with the energy that has co-created the Village Building Convergence, neighbors have continued to build the Village in their neighborhood. Over the years since the conception of City Repair and the Village Building Convergence Share-It Square has grown and evolved to be the home of many of amazing community creating installations.

share-it_square_24hour_solar_tea_station The world’s first 24 solar tea station! Bring a cup or use one of the many available. This community maintained tea station has a large Thermos kept full with warm water and a bountiful basket stuffed to the brim with a wide variety of teas. Take a break and hang out with friends over a nice cup o’ tea!
Now that you’ve got your self a nice blend, stay a while! This is much more than your average bus stop bench. Built by hand from cob, urbanite, and wood by the people who love and occupy it, this bench is a true work of art as well as a wonderful place to enjoy the view and rest your feet. shareit_bench
