The City Repair Project | |
City Repair is a wonderful and exciting project to be a part of. You will meet inspiring people, learn valuable skills, have lots of fun, and transform yourself and your community. There are many ways to be involved, from volunteering at one-time events or work parties, to ongoing and long-term volunteer positions and internships.
Volunteer Coordinator!
Marc Kochanski is our Volunteer Coordinator. You can contact Marc by e-mail at volunteer@cityrepair.org, or by calling the office: 503.235.8946.
Volunteer Orientation!
Volunteer opportunities over the summer will include working on the T-Horse crew (our mobile community tea house-on-wheels!) and participating in placemaking project work-parties. Schedules for T-Horse meetings and for project work-parties will be posted shortly and updates will always go out on The Word, our weekly newsletter. A volunteer orientation will be planned as soon as these schedules are in place. As always, feel free to contact Marc!
One-time events and volunteer opportunities are posted on The Word, our weekly electronic update. Reading the Word is a good way to stay informed about general goings on at City Repair: what meetings and gatherings are happening, when there are workparties, and when there are just plain parties! Subscribe to The Word in order to be updated weekly about City Repair happenings.
If you are looking for a deeper involvement with City Repair, and are available for a several-month commitment, contact our volunteer coordinator at volunteer@cityrepair.org. Below are listed our current general City Repair volunteer needs. If you are interested in volunteering with a specific project, such as Earth Day or the Village Building Convergence, please look at their websites for opportunities.

Street fairs, concerts in the park, farmers’ markets, block parties – summer is the time when folks get together. And often City Repair is asked to join in the fun. We’re getting invitations to do tabling, outreach and even host creative activities at a number of events around Portland. We have the materials ready to go – pictures, books, info-sheets. We could add all kinds of flourishes like free tea, cob, seed balls, visioning games, etc. But we need smiling faces to make it work.
