Walktober City Repair Tour

  • NE 28 and NE Jarrett Portland, OR (map)

Come join City Repair Organizers as we lead a Walktober tour of some North Portland Placemaking sites to highlight the physical and social structures that the Village Building Convergence produces.

We'll see Intersection Repair, Permaculure Gardens, Earthen Buildings, and we'll discuss the process to make these public transformations happen. This is a great event if your interested in being a placemaking site for VBC 16 (request For Proposals are out!!!)
Walktober was created to help people throughout the region find new places to walk and people to enjoy walking with. In three years there have been over 150 walks and over 900 individuals participated. These walks are led by local organizations or individuals - waterfront loop run/walk, a pub-crawl, and a weekly lunchtime meet-up group. The possibilities are endless!

Anyone can lead a walk by adding their event to the Walktober open calendar at Once your walk is submitted, anyone in the community may join in. Feel free to spread the word on your own through Facebook, Twitter, fliers, carrier pigeon, or any other means – and we’ll do the same.

Happy trails!
