Join Charlie Wilcox to make a collaborative animation on fabric! Based in the experimental lineage of direct animation, in which the celluloid filmstock is used as the direct surface in which the animator draws or etches their work, we will have a forty foot fabric film strip that can be added to, altered, and then animated! As facilitator, Charlie will be on hand to talk about approaches to this practice of fabric-based animation, how to think like a stop-motion animator, and examples of other artists and animators working in this vein. Let's get loose for a couple hours working on this open-ended collaborative project!
All materials will be provided. This is an all-ages drop-in workshop. All are welcome to participate at any time during the event.
Event is free and requires no registration. If you’d like to join in on the papercrete workshop (2-5pm) please register here, or the evening Pizza Party Potluck with live music, please register here.
