Our Programs

City Repair has numerous programs throughout the year including our largest annual program, the Village Building Convergence. Beyond our own programs, we also support individuals/groups nesting their programs under our nonprofit umbrella, if there is alignment. Village Building Convergence (VBC)

Our largest program and annual spring-time barn-raising in June! Through the VBC, we facilitate placemaking to encourage the emergence of a modern village spirit. Our next VBC will be June 14th - 22nd, 2025.

Street Paintings

The City Repair Project has completed over 70 street paintings across the Portland Metro area (and surrounding communities). We create street paintings to repurpose existing public space in order to develop a broader diversity of uses that will facilitate sustainable community development.

Natural Building

Natural buildings are structures created by using minimally-processed, plentiful, or renewable natural materials such as straw, clay, wood, and stone.

Ecological Landscaping

Permaculture aims to integrate nature and humans together through sustainable and design and construction, creating highly functional and beautiful outdoor spaces.

Houseless Village Building

In partnership with the POD Initiative and the Village Coalition, City Repair has been helping apply placemaking and our village building model to respond to the current housing crisis.

T-Horse

City Repair is rebuilding our team to escort the T-Horse, our mobile tea house, to visit the various lovely neighborhoods Portland has to offer. Let us know if you’d like to help, or bring the T-Horse to your neighborhood!

Pollinator Pathways

Pollinator species are in distress as their habitats have become threatened by various human activities. We collaborate with other organizations and community members to design and plant long strips of pollinator friendly habitat in long corridors.

Ephemeral Placemaking

City Repair creates magical inspiring ephemeral villages including the Nest at Pickathon. We are proud sponsors and collaborators for events that have a strong focus on family-oriented and sustainable programming.
