Earth Day 2015

On Saturday, April 25th, 2015, City Repair co-sponsored the 2015 Portland Earth Day Festival by providing a main stage, building festival decorations, and by serving free tea out of our T-Horse.

Build out began bright and early at 6 am and was led by Mark Lakeman and Frances Michaelson, long-time City Repair stewards and residents of the Planet Repair Institute. After a few hours and with many hands, the festival space was Placemaked-out!

At our T-Horse, besides serving free tea, we had a lounge area with rugs and pillows, wood whittling demonstrations, and art portraits by youths. VBC volunteers were present to discuss our upocming convergence, including how our early bird tickets are on sale!

Many elders in the activist community swung by to say hello, including folks who've been around since the first Village Building Convergences and Earth Days, who helped edit our Placemaking Guide Book,  and so many heartfelt stories percolated through the celebration.
